I have a USB modem which connects to MTN for internet access.
I don't use it very often; it's mostly for emergencies when I can't get online any other way and, as such, I generally load it with a 10 Meg data bundle (at a Rand per Meg!) which lasts 60 days.
It would appear that MTN, in an attempt to further shaft their users, have changed this so that it now becomes a subscription and MTN can now deduct the amount each month regardless of whether you use it or not.
This is a scam and I will not buy data from them on these terms.
For God's sake, surely 1 Rand per Meg is exploitative anyway, in view of other operator offering 19c per Gig?
Does anyone know the rate at which these thieves deduct from prepaid accounts without data bundle purchase?
