Is this a record? Our local MTN tower (Nooitgedacht in NWP, tower no. 120) has been virtually unusable for data for seven weeks now. Despite my spending nearly R100 on calling my MTN reseller, MTN Helpdesk and MTN coverage, it's STILL down to a data speed even slower than a messenger with a cleft stick!

We are at our wits' end in this area, convinced MTN either simply doesn't give a damn, or can't fix it. What more can we do?

Ive enquired on this now as to what the hold up is. Ive been advised that there is a hardware fault and that Ericsson is looking for the precise location as as to fix/replace....they wont commit to a timeframe, sorry man.

...wait holdup, i see that some work is being done on that site at 2am tomorrow morning, if thats not successful they will log a further service request.

Thanks snakepit, really appreciate the update, will also pass on to our neighbours who are in despair after so many weeks of frustration!

Nope! Whatever they did succeeded only in changing my pink (EDGE) light to green (GPRS)! Not that it made any other difference -- neighbours confirm they too can barely get e-mail today again, and that accessing the web is virtually impossible. I hope they will be logging another service request and not forgetting about us again.....

Good morning, yes i can see the problem is still on, Ericsson staff are working hard on getting the problem resolved, will advise soonest on any feedback hereof. Once again i would like to extend an apology about the delay in this regard, it is being treated with the utmost of urgency presently.
