MTN Data Rates?

ok...cool...thanks for clearing it up... hopefully in 3 months it'll be sorterd :p

Yes you will

If you load the 1GB bundle on an existing package you'll get 1GB extra for a period of the months

That means 2GB per month for 3 months ;)

Pitbull,

Is this 1G at R399 and get 1G free still available on Prepaid ?

Thanks! :)

I do find the 3 months thing a bit weird though, should one just buy a prepaid SIM then and get another 3 months at half price?

1G at R399 and get 1G free special on Prepaid ?

Can anyone confirm if the 1G at R399 and get 1G free special is still available on Prepaid.

I've added a 1GB mtn bundle to my contract...apparently you still get one free :)

Before you smile to much. Look at the Vodacom 2Gig price & then at the 1 + 1 free from MTN and then smile. As far as I can remember Vodacom is cheaper. Nothing is ever for free.

Besides my account being suspended within 24 hours, the service I've had from MTN is WAY - WAY better than Vodacom... How much is the difference?

could someone perhaps tell me what the prepaid rates are for mtn data bundles?

i have a 2gb data bundle with vodacom over 24months with only 4 months having elapsed but it's gone from a very effective product to a lemon virtually over night.

I originally tested mtn in my area and found it very slow but since having issues with vodacom I've put my mtn sim in the E220 and the performance is amazing and whats more is it seems to be consistently good. problem is it will be costing me R1-20 per mb unless i can get a mtn starter pack and a data bundle...

help....

Questions

1) I do not understand the 24hr suspension?
2) What data package did you buy from MTN?

1.) hellopeter, here's the story. I didn't want to go the hellopeter route on MTN, because there service had been so good so far, but I phoned the call center no less than 15 times over this issue, and after going through all the checks and explaining the issue, they blatantly refused to let me speak to a suprvisor or manager - i.e. anyone who could get my account unlocked. I had to buy a prepaid sim in the end to phone friends for directions.

2.) I'm on the Nokia E90 ProTalk 120 (309/pm) contract, and added the 1GB bundle shortly after returning from the above trip... Think it's R350/pm for 2GB...

Sandman did you get the prices?
Dial 141 and you can change airtime to data. I am currently using 100M for R80, but I think it gets cheaper as you buy more data. Hope this helps a bit.

I think that Hello Peter link will only work for you, could you post a link that we can all see please?

Yeah, MTN = R399 for 1GB and maybe (depending who you speak to) a second GB free, Vodacom = R289 for 1GB or R389 for 2GB.

A nice thing about the Vodacom option is that when deplete your bundle you can just buy another, none of this multiple SIM swapping rubbish.
