My BF contract is coming to an end.

I was thinking to rather switch to prepaid and get a data contract that i can share with my and my 2 kid's sim cards. How can I confirm that the data contract will allow me to share with my prepaid mtn sims?

For e.g. I was thinking of getting this contract:

Thanks

Ok Thanks. Will all of it be shareable, or only 70gb out of the 100gb?

I have the 200g from MTN for R479. Works great with data share. It’s actually for max Six people including where the SIM card is installed. Me, Wife, three kids and my sister. Sharing 200g. It’s structured like this, 150g for data share end 50g non shareable. Everyone happy

I would at least wait till the last week of November for BF deals.
I don't see any good Black Friday specials. Did i miss any?

Other than maybe getting the 50Gigs for R199. Does anybody know if this is data is shareable?

I got the Mobile Internet Gold BF deal - 30 GByte for R149x12.
I can share 50% according to the app.
The consultant told me I can only share with contract numbers.

But I now added successfully one prepaid number, but two other prepaid numbers give errors. The prepaid sim on the Bonus Bonanza price plan fails with "This number is part of a price plan that is not eligible to be part of data share. The other prepaid sim I am not about the price plan, but it fails with "Can't share data with this number. Action not allowed on DataShare group."

I also don't see any other price plan options to migrate to on prepaid that will allow datashare.

Ok I figured out the problem(s).

(1) One number had data share active and it was sharing BACK to the number I was trying to share FROM.
(2) The old MTN app gave cryptic error messages.
(3) USSD was also giving cryptic error messages.
(3) Even the new MTN app was iffy to navigate. I ended up adding the 3rd number from the contract sim using USSD.

To summarize, I have a BF contract sim on Mobile Internet Gold and I can share 50% of the data with prepaid sims.

if I get this one:

The 30gig anytime plays 20gb bonus, can I load airtime on it so that I can make normal calls?

Consultant at mtn says I can’t.
Bollocks.
I took a prepaid sim which had airtime on it and asked them to convert that to contract. That is on a topup basis - don't want no OOB shark, EVER.
I did not lose the airtime that was on the prepaid sim. I just transferred more airtime from another prepaid sim onto this sim and made a successful call from it. If you can transfer airtime to it, then you can certainly buy more airtime.
My contract is the Gold, not the Platinum, but they should behave the same.

I just got this contract and now I can’t share data with a prepaid number I was previously sharing with.

I get this error:
Dała can't be shared with this number.

This number has DataShare active already. You can select another contact to share data with.

Anybody know how to solve this?

Firstly, is your new contract a consumer or business deal?

Oh great. That’s not what the consultant told me when I asked him.

So you can only share to other contracts?

MTN has another package called Made for Business?? , (not sure of the exact name) , for R8.70 per month, You can move your prepaid sims to this package and then continue sharing data from the main business package.

They also have another package for around R6, but according to the MTN salesperson, he said those are for telemetry services, while it currently works for data share, it's going to stop eventually, so rather get the one for R8.70.

I managed to cancel my contract. You can cancel for free if it’s within 7 days. Trying to get my account converted to a consumer account. Not sure why it was on business in the first place.
