I would like to hear from other people who is currently using the same modem ?

I only had problems with mine and it is since I received it on 6 march 2012 ,not been resolved by MTN !!

Any advise will be appreciated as I am unable to make contact with any senior person at MTN . To try and get my problems resolved .
 
My 8ta E367 is fine. Post here what is written inside SIM compartment. Note: SIM needs to be removed to see modem #.
 
The same. Firmware might be different and there is a different dashboard. Check for the latest firmware on MTN Web site, it might help, but you didn't attempt to describe your problem. BTW, my 8ta mod is using older firmware than Fastlink, but can't complain.
 
The problem I have is that according to MTN I was using more than 2GB in my month period. That is almost impossible as I don't ever download any films or very large files.I have not used more than 2GB in a month for more than 3 years with my iBurst modem.

For example I have not used my modem since the 20th April 2012 for any internet connections . When I realised that their is a problem with my usage.
When a lady from MTN phoned me on about 7/8 May .She said I had still 1.4 GB for the month period 14 April to 14 May. I only connected the modem on 2 occasions since 20 April 2012 (no internet sites) just to be able to refresh my modem usage report . That was on 1 May and 12 May

Yet when I checked again on the 16 may my available data showed that only .7GB was transferred to the new month 14 May to 14 June . What happened to the other .7GB of the original 1.4 GB earlier in the month ?

I got the modem on 6 March 2012 . Yet its usage report show that it was used since Sept 2011

Originally the problem started in March - April month when they claimed I used over 3.2 GB in less than 3 weeks . On closer inspection when I received an detailed invoice (what I had to pay extra for) it showed usage since 14 march 2012 .I did not asked for an detail invoice for the portion of the previous period, but they claimed I used my modem since it was rica on 12 March 2012.

Any way the March - April period showed that I was using my modem on 14 , 15 , & 16 March . They showed that I also made 17 Data calls on the 15 th March 2012

This was not possible as although my modem was Rica on 12 March it would connect ,but I was not able to open any internet sites . The reason being that my settings on my modem was not correct. A person from their It department was on the phone with me one evening for an hour . He could not tell me the correct settings . The next morning another person from same place phoned me and we tried some other settings . Yet the modem would not work at all .

On the 16 March I post an request on this forum for help as I was then reddy to return the modem to MTN and cancel the contract (wanted to do that already on 14 April 2012 ,but the person working at MTN branch @ Qwagga centre Pta West, refused to take the modem. As I was other the 7 day return period ?

Any way on the evening of 16 March . With the help from some one in DBN on this forum @ about 10 pm . He gave me the correct settings and then my modem was working correctly .

Now taking in to consideration that settings was only corrected so late on 16 march . How on earth was it possible for me to use so many of my GB on 14 - 16 March ? Plus the portion of the previous month ?

My modem usage report also show conflicting usage . It will show on the same time I have received an X amount of GB . Next to that window. It show what one have used and below what is left over (available) Yet on mine the received and used figures are always the same and the result is that the window showing what is left . Is always " nothing available"

As I work alone in a small shop I am not able to visit any store easily. When I decided that I had enough with my very slow (snail) iBurst . I purchased this fast link on line from MTN web site 29 February 2012. It was delivered on 6 march 2012 and I immediately (as recommended on their box) activate my sim card. It however took them until 12 march to Rica the sim card ?
