When you do a sim swop afaik it will be authorised if you answer the security questions in a phone call. So may never know the who.Had the same issue with Vodacom last your , still waiting for them to show me the paperwork who requested the Sim swap
It gets authorized either way. If you fail the answers just email and fax or send a fake id and fake affidavit and the number is yours. When you do a sim swop afaik it will be authorised if you answer the security questions in a phone call. So may never know the who.
Your wife has a side chick.
Hi OPYour wife has a side chick.
You will never know, believe me I tried.Had the same issue with Vodacom last your , still waiting for them to show me the paperwork who requested the Sim swap
Hi all. Apologies for reopening an old thread. Just want to check something. I guessing a sim swap was done on my wifes number but there is no history of sim swap with Mtn as it is a prepaid contract and this could only be possible by using my details as I am the contract holder.
But what I find strange, there is one particular number that appears 20 to 30 times a month on the itemised billing that my wife says she has never called. I have tried calling the number but it comes up as "the number you have dialled does not exist".
I have tried calling Mtn and I just keep getting referred to different departments and nobody can give me the possible reason of what is happening.
If a Sim swap was done your wife's Sim will be dead, the same number cannot work on two different Sims, so it will be very easy to tell if a Sim swap was done or not.Hi all. It is prepaid. It does not belong to anyone. There is no such thing as a prepaid contract. Just prepaid. You are not the contract holder. There is no contract. You details were just used to Rica. Your details were also used to register the SIM on MTNs system.Hi all. Apologies for reopening an old thread. Just want to check something. Yup phone number is workingThis thread is about SIM swapping by unauthorised people without permission or knowledge of the contract holder.
Is her phone working with her SIM card?
True Caller doesn't show any info on the number. If I call the number it doesn't exist. If a Sim swap was done your wife's Sim will be dead, the same number cannot work on two different Sims, so it will be very easy to tell if a Sim swap was done or not.
What does true caller say about the number that appears 30 times?
I don't know much about the Sim swopping but number is working. This thread is about SIM swapping by unauthorised people without permission or knowledge of the contract holder.

Hi. Thanks for the reply and info, I'm not complaining, just trying to find out what is happening, as Mtn hasn't been much help.It is prepaid. It does not belong to anyone. There is no such thing as a prepaid contract. Just prepaid. You are not the contract holder. There is no contract. You details were just used to Rica. Your details were also used to register the SIM on MTNs system.
You gave your SIM willingly to someone else and now complain you don't recognize a number it is phoning. The person loading airtime to that number would know as no one just do not recognize that much airtime disappearing.
Your wife is keeping a secret from you and the other person must have cancelled their number.
MTN call center is useless. Walk into a MTN store for them to look up the number on their system to verify the sim was swapped. If however you got the number back already then MTN might just covering their arses and claiming it was never swapped. Then the call history during the swap period will be able to tell you it was swapped. Call history prior to the swap period will just reveal your wife's secrets.
Then it hasn't been sim swapped. There is probably a reasonable explanation for the number that appears 30 times on the statement, how long are the xalk durations?I don't know much about the Sim swopping but number is working.
If its dialled from the phone then the phone should have the history as wellThen it hasn't been sim swapped. There is probably a reasonable explanation for the number that appears 30 times on the statement, how long are the xalk durations?
The calls vary in length from 5 seconds to 2minutes. Been appearing since January this year. Then it hasn't been sim swapped. There is probably a reasonable explanation for the number that appears 30 times on the statement, how long are the xalk durations?
