MTN Garmap for BlackBerry

The strangest thing happened to me today... I fired up the Garmap program which worked great over the weekend and it tells me my subscription has expired!
And here I was thinking this is great, I actually like this program.
I'll go check and report back if I was charged for data this weekend or if it ran through BIS.
 
I upgraded to a Blackberry contract on July 19, so I should qualify.
Just deleted it and reinstalled it. Same problem.
I'll call MTN blackberry support tomorrow.
 
I downloaded it onto my MTN issued Blackberry Curve 8900 which I use with my Vodacom sim that is activated against the companies BES server.

I find the navigation quicker and better than Vodafone Sat Nav and I now keep both installed on the handheld.

I also have Garmin Mobile on the E90 that I use with an MTN sim and sofar on none of them have I experienced any additional data charges then again I don't use it all the time.

Perhaps just once a month when I'm going for a drive outside the CT CBD to a destination that I already know the route to but use the software for the hell of it :)

Yep, I was disappointed as well. I installed it using *123*18# and following the link. When the app is running you will see the BB sign next to the 3G icon has disappeared. This means you are using the MTN APN which you are billed for. Funny, that since disabling my APN settings any app that tries to connect to the net through WAP/MTN APN cannot connect to the internet except this damn Garmap program! It must have MTN's APN settings embedded in the app. So now the b@stards can make money off us after saying that "no additional data charges will be levied by MTN for this service, As this is included in the Blackberry Internet Service subscription."

fismail, anything will now be quicker than Vodafone SatNav because of the internet service on Vodacom's BB platform being extremely slow. I stopped using Vodafone SatNav because of this. By the time the map is downloaded, I have already asked for directions and got there.
 
I checked my bill... I wasn't charged for any map download data charges over the past weekend when it directed me all around Durban. :)
Also, just called MTN and they said that they were aware of the expired subscription problem and are trying to fix it. No resolution time given though.
 
Is there any way to stick actual maps on your phone so your phone doesn't need to download them when you connect?
 
I have garmap on my Fiancee's 8900, worked fine for a like a month, tried yesterday and it said license expired, and i need to renew (and pay) online.
I though this was free for MTN users?
Anyone know what to do?
 
MTN garmap on bold 9700

I have had garmap on my 9700 from the time i got the phone in november it has a 2year license but now all suddden it constatntly has no gps signal. ANy ideas on how I can fix this? rebooting does not work
