MTN hits 195 million subscribers

Well done! Amazing milestone for MTN!
Dont blame them too much for their poor interest in SA when the Africa Middle East markets are so much bigger.
Why fight in a pond when you can fight at sea!

This is not trolling - just stating facts.

My posts are about a wide variety of issues.

I am currently on MTN and feel totally ripped off paying double what I could be paying compared to Cell C. The biggest rippoff to me is of their contract customers, who are tied in (loyalty) and used to pay lower rates but now pay more, as well as the compulsory two-year contract. I will absolutely, definitely be changing if MTN doesn't put in a fantastic (contract) offer very soon.

I manage a few sims for employees and family, across three network and each has a reason for staying or changing, but the move is mainly towards Cell C due to better per-minute rates, better data rates, more flexible contract periods and the international benefits.

No Wonder they losing subscribers pathetic support service..
Sony Xperia Arc still sitting gathering dust @ MTN Brooklyn after being abused by they're service center and now my BIS is basically useless. Since MTN decided to change BIS to 200MB of data where i am paying R59 per month for a BIS service as per contract..
Now wonder what would they say if i try and cancel that service...
Luckily only have 6 & 9 months left on the contracts.

I'm also with MTN and also feel ripped off. Been with MTN since the year after they started and feel the time has come to move on. I pay R2.30 in bundle and R2.85 out of bundle on my Anytime 200 compared to CellC.

I've been with MTN for 10 years. Service were great for the first 8 or so years. In the past two years I've had problems getting the device I wanted when upgrading, I once waited 2 months for a phone then decided to get something else.

Vodacom let me change from a data to talk package and vice versa from the 21st month of my contract. MTN says NO, wait until 24 months is up - then u can downgrade or change to a different package.

Thankfully my contract with MTN expires in June, so they will be receiving my notice of cancellation next month.
