That is EXACTLY the phone I am looking for. They had it in their May booklets, but no stock. Oh well.

Im on a month to month too, as my contract has expired.
I sent a link to this very thread about the DEFY you were offered to MTN about this.
I hope you remembered the name of the sales consultant so that they could shed some light on the matter.
Either way, they are lying or they don't know what the hell they are talking about as per usual........:confused:

Update:I received a nice two line email from the service provider that doesn't care from a Mpho Nhlapo .
It basically just says i must go to the website and click upgrades then overview to select a phone.

WOW SURPRISE!!!!

Motorola isn't even listed, yet i just returned from some shopping and saw in their latest Yello magazine at MTN in Kenilworth Centre the Defy at R129.

I asked when this phone will be available and they tell me when the Motorola rep comes to see them(No time frame or anything).

Yes i could give up and pull my hair out screaming like a banshee, but i will not accept defeat!:twisted:

I will never let a friend or relative join your network UNLESS THEY WANT AN AWESOME PHONE ,as I ponder on my last 25 months, i have had more trouble with incorrect billing and poor service with a dollops rudeness from your incompetent call agents and MTN store employees.
However you have my phone at the best price so i will eat your yellow humble pie...

I have an excellent relationship with you on hellopeter and its time to REKINDLE IT.....

im going to open another account with capitec just for taking out this cellphone contract. So they can't steal too much of my money, if and when they overcharge me :)
 
Wohoo, just got my Defy. Ordered on Friday, delivered on Tuesday, not bad :D

Seems like MTN did have stock...
 
I want to get the RedBull Mobile R250 deal. Comes with a Defy. I'll want to sell it though, as I have a Desire HD. Anyone interested? Send me a PM.

After your recent post i threw up a little in my mouth.:sick:

I then called MTN myself and halle frinkin' lujah the phone is available.:wtf:

I havnt signed any paperwork yet from Voda because i stalled the contract due to a R900-odd pay required vs free on MTN.:o

What a mind F****!:D

But i want to thank you Species8472 for saving me R900+.

Glad I could help.

I finally charged my phone for the required 3 hours (WHY!?!?!?!?!) and I must say, it is AWESOME.

I have not set it up completely yet, going to wait till I get home to my WiFi :)

Compared to my G1, this phone is super fast. Now to load a few games and see.

Oh the joy!:p

Im going to run mine under a tap and make a phone call in the rain when my baby comes.

Enjoy it and let us know what you think of it once you have played around with it a bit more.
