MTN launches new Mega Plans

Who are these people willing to pay R599 for 25Gigs?
I was wondering the same thing. My first thought when reading the headline was "Is ... is that a good price? Seems very expensive for 25 GB".

The cost difference between fiber and mobile data is just crazy, especially if you consider that fiber providers are having to build brand new networks and run infrastructure into every single home vs just putting up a single tower with a single data cable and then reaching hundreds of people.

They will hide behind "mY sPEctrUM" every time - and we'll keep buying their crap, cause we have no choice. It's either Vodacon or EmptyN - not like any of the others have amazing specials or they have the coverage of a budget DIY'er that bought a 5L paint tin for his whole house.

Why can't South Afica just to this properly, wait for actual Black Friday and give proper deals. These pre-BF deals are just embarrassing, companies trying to milk the consumer by offering what should be perceived as good deals.

How is that Mega when i pay R299 for 90GB of data per a month from Vodacom, Anytime data... then 60GB night data which is a waste anyway

Only valid for 60 days? I only use mobile data to stream music/whatsapp calls etc when I'm out and about so the 50gigs valid for 6 months is perfect.
:) For that use it makes sense, I agree.
My main connection is LTE. I don't have data on my phone anymore since being at home mostly.

These are actually pretty good compared to their current Voice/Data combo offerings

Telkom is 50+50GB for R299. Then Vodacom charges 79c/minute. Still works out cheaper.
