I have a MTN F@stLink E220 USB Modem, it was working perfectly till yesterday until I connect it up today and gives me an error " Data card invalid". I am running windows 7 on my laptop. Checked the the sim card on my phone and seems fine and did the driver update ( currently using wireless). Dont have access to another pc so cant get the modem tested. I restored my pc to a previous working state, uninstalled program still no luck.

Checked on an old thread here and it mentioned windows defender 5 which may be causing a conflict but it seems to be turned off on my laptop. The laptop seems to pick up the usb connection but once I open the fastlink interface it gives me the error and I cant choose the "connect" option. Desperately need it for work.

Id also be interested in this answer...i have had the same problem before, have removed the modem and drivers, reinstalled and it works again...

Having the same issue - works on an XP machine, but move it across to a windows 7 laptop and it gives the invalid SIM message
