MTN offers free voice calls

Pretty useless and pointless for about 95% of South Africans.

Even if you happen to be awake at that time with a need to call someone, I doubt the person you hope to speak to will be also awake AND be an MTN subscriber.

Rather bring us cheaper call rates during normal hours, or cheaper data rates.

+1... I vote cheaper data rates... I barely use the phone to call in any event..

I'm awake (restless) I've tested it ,calls aint going through "you have insufficient funds blah blah"

@khanya I had airtime I called a MTN number (just after 1am) it ran out then I tried the 'free talk time'thingy did not work as stated before.

So this just provides proof that they want something to advertise but want to make it as difficult as possible to use. You can call for free between that times, but only IF AND WHEN the server feels like it.

ag jippie, now drunk kids can call (spam) their sleeping mtn buds in the early hours.

come on MTN, lower your stuuupid high call rates and then we'll give you a high five

I have to agree with most of you to an extent. I for one would've preferred data and I'm concerned that contract subscribers like myself don't get much from service providers.

That said; this is not a bad move by MTN. This is just an add on and only a small percentage will use it but someone will find it useful

Empty Crap N

Contract rates R2.50 p/min anywhere:cry:
Pay as you go cheapest R0.03 per sec.:)
Why contract?:wtf:

1-4? i moved to CellC from MTN. they r bunch of crooks. who in the hell will be awake between that time to call for free? lower rates and you will get more.

Not something I would use, but at least it might help some poor souls working the graveyard shift. Now they can call their co-workers working with them for free!
And those who study at night and need to call 'study buddies' etc
