I know the major difference between the Anytime 100 and Offpeak 100 is that the anytime contract has a fixed call rate, and the Offpeak contract has different rates for peak and offpeak. The Offpeak 100 seems more suitable for my wife, and I want to do an upgrade.

I checked with two different MTN shops. The first salesperson said that the same phones and subscription fees that are advertised in the specials apply to the Offpeak 100, but obviously the call charges are different. The salesperson at the second shop said that only "basic" phones are available on the Offpeak 100 contract.

Can anyone clarify this? I don't want to phone the call-centre, because half the people there don't know the facts themselves.

Call MTN Direct 0831233667 as they do sales. I think you get worse handsets on the off peak package. When I asked about getting my Bold on the off peak package they told me there would be a significant pay-in if I did.

Off peak only goes up to 200, but there is almost no restriction.
Although there is a pay in on taking an expensive phone on a cheap package.
Most every phone is available on off peak 100.
What phone do you want?

In my case, Bold or E71...
Thanks

My SO wanted an E66 on an OffPeak200 and there was no pay-in, compared to the AnyTime200 where there was a R29pm pay-in...
