Hi Everyone.

If you remember MTN Online shop had a deal on the iPhone 4's for R2000. I dumped at the deal and placed 11 phones in my basket to pay for the next day. So i went to pay the next day and i got a message of this deal has expired
(not my basket, the deal)

I then contacted MTN and the said the deal has expired, i could not accept this as it said the deal was on for two months.

The then changed their tune and removed "deal has expired" but no said there was no stock now.

I can understand their is no stock, but because i STILL have them in my basket they should honor that, i could not have place the order if the was no stock at the time.

They state that they will make every effort. Which i feel has not been done, all there stores have stock.

3.2. MTN SP makes every effort to ensure that the Product information supplied on the Online Shop Website is accurate and that the Products offered are available. In the event that there is a delay or MTN SP does not have stock of a particular Product, MTN SP will inform you thereof.

And

6.2. Registered customers’ shopping carts shall be stored on their profile and will not be cleared in the event that the last session is terminated.

I believe they should honor my "stored basket"

See attached pictures.

Buying 11 phones? wtf. Why be such a greedy ass? You definitely do NOT need so many iPhones unless you were to resell them... I would do the same, they kinda caught on to the idea that you were trying to exploit their promotion and turn a profit for yourself so I say good for them.
Protip: Don't be a greedy *******.

Even if it it was just one phone in your basket, why would they give you priority over someone who is actually paying for the phone. This was a stock clearance promo due to the launch of the 5C and 5S and was while stocks last. Unless you actually paid, you are not entitled to have the deal honoured.

That's a virtual basket with no physical goods attached, you need to pay and then dispute. Since you cannot pay, there is nothing to dispute. They predicted available iPhone 4's over 2 months, which got sold out, thus the deal expired.

So what you are saying is, should you put something in the basket now, that it should be available two years later.

No, not saying that, but saying that if its in my basket and the deal is still on, they should honor that in my opinion, but hey maybe i'm am wrong.
