MTN PREPAID TO CONTRACT MESS

I need some advice on what to do, please.
On Saturday I took out a new contract from MTN, but wanted to migrate my current MTN prepaid number from PREPAID to contract.

The contract has been approved, but the store says they can’t give me the phone before the number gets migrated.
The “migrate” department say they can’t migrate it before I have the phone and new simcard.

I’ve been to both now about 3 times and the story stays the same.

Any adviser will be much appreciated – maybe a contact number of someone that actually knows what’s going on and can sort this.

Have you tried calling the migration department while instore?

Then they and the store can discuss it infront of you...

Thanks you for the quick reply.

I've asked twice while I was there, but they "can’t seem to get through" and then just tell me they will keep on trying and ring me back - off course - not once did someone call me back.

You normally fill in a form with the prepaid phone number and sim card number on it. When vetting your application the service agent will select a prepaid to contract port on the system. When the contract is approved the service agent needs to activate the contract onto your prepaid number.

Ask the person at the store you want to speak to a supervisor or a manager or someone higher up than they are. Unfortunately you are stuck between a rock and a hard place at the moment.

Alternatively: If you have to, give up, pay for a new SIM card and let them activate it (only as a last resort).

I hope you don't bank with ABSA.
