With MTN Mobile Internet connection, it used to be working perfectly. Lately how ever the signal is Non existent and trying to find another server which does Not use MNT and is affordable, like Afrihost, is nearly impossible as they all Ride on MTN's back. only Vodacom which is Most Expensive exist and their signal is Mostly good.

Vodacom has good deals at times, there are on 24 month contracts only. Remember about rollover policy and OOB sharks!
Get prepaid SIM for each networks, small bundle and test signal.

MTN signal is a nightmare for me at home. It keeps going to edge and even that is slow. I've actually tried to port to a better service but MTN refuses to release the number. It's a nightmare all around

MTN has excellent speeds across 90+% of PE, but right on my property the speeds are crap and LTE is seldom connected to. Very frustrating when there's load shedding. Fortunately I'm on wifi almost all of the time.

Go to Cell C and see if they'll buy out your contract.

You might want to change that username from a telephone number to something anonymous.
PM rpm or another mod to change it.
"Hello, leave a message"...

They can only block porting if your account is in areas.

If your contract payments are up to date, just request transfering your number to prepaid and assign a new number to the contract. Then port your prepaid number with no hassles.
Or go to the competitors, they will do all paperwork, it is their business.

If you're using any mobile service provider as your primary means of getting Internet access at home then you absolutely have to use a standalone router like the Huawei B593 with external antennas before you write off the quality of the signal. A good router with an external antenna can turn the crappiest 2G signal into a solid 3G connection (provided you have at least a little 3G footprint to work with in the first place).

Always wonder why people don't ask for booster aerials ?
I wrote to MTN and they put up a great Poynting on my roof. Free.
