MTN service suspended

My service was suspended this morning after paying on time, more than the amount due and receiving a confirmation SMS from MTN that they received my payment.

Calling 808 tells you to use the self help services, because of the strike and then they tell you the self help services has been suspended.

What do I do know? I do not have time to go and stand in a queue at MTN.

Been with MTN for 15 years, but their service is going down the drain the past year.:mad::mad:

Is this related to "very high data usage"
My wife had two months (conveniently during the strike) when her data usage increased substantially, and her account was then blocked.
Wondering if anyone else had something similar?
 
I had MTN call me today telling me that I've been using 600MB of data a month costing me around R700, and they will put me on a 12GB per month package for R1200 so I don't pay as much.

Couldn't stop laughing. Phone bill hasn't been over R300 for years and I use Axxess data.
 
Just received a new SMS this morning from MTN about my account being overdue. This is after the whole episode 2 days ago where my account was incorrectly suspended after receiving the same account overdue message. The MTN assistant then confirmed my payment over the phone and manually enabled my service again.

I cant believe what a mess the MTN automated billing system has become. Almost as if someone is sabotaging the system. No wonder the CEO resigned.

MTN rep, please can you check what is going on. I do not want to be sitting with a disconnected service over the weekend!

I think it is time that MyBroadband did an investigation on this issue and made a nice stinker of a news article.
 
Dear Valued Customer, MTN is doing its best to fully restore services that may have been affected by the industrial action. We apologize for any convenience.

This probably coming from the new CEO.
 
Got the account fixed, then they did not allocate here the 200 sms and 300mb free with the choice 100 package.* Just checked her invoice and the f#$%^ers billed her for the sms, data and clip.* They did not apply the discounts that should be done by default.* Getting *tired of fighting with them every month on her account for some issue or other.*** Gone too take some time to fix this one.* Last time took them 3 months to correct a system error on their side that caused incorrect data billing.
 
My service has been suspended too. I'm still not getting anything out of their useless call centre. Actually, I was thinking of giving them a chance, but feck, I'm not gonna upgrade my contract. I'm only left with 3 months to leave the disaster that is MTN.
 
I rectified the suspension as it was call barring was activated on the account by someone @ MTN. Went into the account via the MTN active web and deactivated that so that out going calls could be made.

I have been also a MTN user for 15 years and have also paid on time, just to have my service suspended for non payment as they say! They have gone from being the best cell phone company to the worst in the world! They are even going so low as to be stealing your data before you can even use it...What is going on with MTN?
 
Yeerrr people there was a strike... People do stupid things during a strike... Like burn cars, beat up people and what do you know... Disconnect/bar customers services to make a point. Its not right but don't act like you don't know what happened to your accounts.... It happened to mine and i logged in and unblocked that s h i t online. 3 contracts all were off.
 
Hi also my line was suspended this morning and I have paid what could be the problem
 
Hi my line has been suspended I’ve made payment on the 28 of August but I’m still waiting for my line to be connected please assist
