Hi Guys

Just got a SMS on my (data) SIM reminding me that if I don't use my SIM card for 90 days I could lose my number. It looked somehat like a general SMS.

I'v had the SIM now for three and a bit months - never made a chargeable call.

Where/how can I get the number of days left before SIM expiry?.

In a recent Vodacom thread they mentioned what constitutes a "activity"

Can anyone provide similar info for MTN? Also, does it apply to activity or a chargeable event.

As I understood it from a rep after I had my SIM cancelled even though it still had R100 or so of data on it, data use doesn't count as activity (yeah, really!), and you have to make a 'chargeable call' of at least one minute, every three months. Ludicrous system, but they just don't seem to get the illogicality of it.
