We are developing on android using MAC OSX we have a problem with the MTN steppa tablet, adb does not recognise the device.

We have been trying to search the net for the manufacturer OEM driver code and we cannot find anything what we found was that the manufacturer for the tablet we have is foxda.

Any Ideas?

It's a cheap Japanese rebrand, Google won't have anything on it, you will need to open it up and inspect the actual hardware. Why you testing and that useless piece of outdated crap anyway?

Ok I thought I would get help on the OEM code, the reason we testing on this crap is because it was recommended by a senior person and if we cannot use it the senior person wants us to change from the mac environment to windows so hence my plea on this post.

I don't work in android but surely you just build the apk and deploy? The only stuff that matters are the resolution (which you can query), on-board features (wifi, 3g, camera, microphone), and you cannot exactly build unique for each tablet. The senior probably suggested the Steppa because it's cheap and pre-Lollipop which is what most people have at home.

ADB is handy for debugging. Not a must at all, but handy.
