OK! So I just found out that my one child enrolled in a "subscription" service that stole most of her airtime over a period of months. Because we do not get itemized billing and no one was ever notified about this so called "enrollment" so we could acknowledge that such a subscription was made knowing what it entails. Hundreds of rands just disappeared over a period of months.

Now the money is gone, stolen lost. Someone high in MTN and the government must be pocketing millions with this shiite legalized corporate money scamming scheme, therefore their reluctance to do anything concrete about this royal theft.

What can be done about it?
How can we recover that money? (I doubt if possible).
How can it be prevented?

Years ago it happened to me and I had a hard time to get it stopped, now I will have to go through all the pains again. MTN have today "removed" the subscription but how would I know if this will be permanent.

Yeah I know, it's not just MTN. Only thats all I had since the nineties. ;) Thats about to change sooner than later thats for sure.

Any advice would be sincerely appreciated.

I cannot say my daughter did not inadvertently "sign up" but I still want my money back. MTN should not allow these "subscriptions" with no prove or consulting with their clients. MTN are doing it for a reason and I think the Cell companies are "in" on the deals.

MTN =/ company that offers the service.

Instead of blaming a company for offering a service (irrespective of the merits and, regardless, which your daughter apparently signed up to), rather educate your child about these services.

My kids are educated enough about these issues thank you but unfortunately these unscrupulous thieves have ways to con everyone then there are thousands of cases where falsified details were used and the MTN idiots accept that as proof too. So the responsibility should be with MTN to find prove that you subscribed to the service before letting the subscription be taken of your funds. No bank will allow stop orders without proof that you signed up for it.

Uhm let me just say that THIS is not limited to MTN only. I happens to ALL the networks. I have a guy working with me that once he put R50 airtime with cellc that thing is gone in 5 seconds. We found out that he is subscribed to 20 content stuff from lotto to naked pictures ect ect.

So yes they just STEAL money like this. I hope these people just die.
