TOTAL = 39.2 million

SA population ~ 44 million - so our mobile penetration rate sits at 88.3%? Or is one of the networks lying about how many customers they have?

@ MaD i think its their total subscriber base across all the countries that they operate within. in sa i would say mtn's 9mil+ voda's 16mil + cell c's 3mil would give a penetration of 64%? much lower than they make it out to be

In the article it says MTN has 8.9mil in SA, but close enough
