Great news for bombshell MTN package with uncapped voice and 10GB data

MTN is working on removing certain ordering limitations from its recently launched SuperFlex mobile plan, making it easier for existing mobile subscribers to buy the package.

South Africa’s second-largest mobile network operator launched MTN SuperFlex in mid-September, offering unlimited voice minutes and SMS messages with a customisable data allocation from R299 per month.

I'll stick to prepaid voice calls from them on the one SIM that gets a good rate (minus SMS and data).

A R100 add-on to not be treated like dog s. by their staff or call centre sounds like great value though.

Wow that's a dealbreaker. My old man on Vodacom was keen on this. Can't bring his number over, meh.

YEah ordered and actually tried phoning the call centre before hand....sat with egg on my face a few days later when i was told ...sorry sir you cant migrate your current number.... bugger... anyways hopefully they get there stuff together quick...

Update - Tested the sim over the weekend, Already made over 450 + minutes of calls - gave phone to family members to call whoever they like, still going strong. Data part also working good. So far impressed.

Perfect. They should know we are too embedded in our ways to get a new number and reorient all the people we know to now respond to it.
Too much hassle for 300 bucks

Mmm. If they allow to port a number I might put my SO on this package. I ported him to Vodacom a few years ago from Cell C. Told him him I am porting him and that's it because I could not stand the K@k call quality whenever we spoke on the phone lol.

@Jan was there any mention from MTN as to when they will allow you to port your number or move from existing prepaid to this package?

Does the data side support 5G?

I’ve moved to prepaid form contract and all of a sudden I don’t get 5G on prepaid with MTN!!!

I only get 4G on my sim as I live in area that does not have 5G active. Maybe 5G has to be activated on prepaid. I suggest give MTN a call. Voice works very good, as well as SMS, data I use on the move, WiFi at work and at home.

Wow! Thank you. I will sign up shortly on this with my existing number :)

Literally signed up and paid, got a text message 30 seconds later saying “Y'ello, Welcome to the MTN SuperFlex Price Plan. Each month you will receive 15GB Anytime Data and Unlimited All-net Minutes and SMS's at R399pm. TnCs apply.”

Logged into the MTN app to confirm:

MTN Prepaid 5G worked automatically for me from the start on physical sim. Not sure on this plan though but can't see why not. On Vodacom I had to phone in for 5G to be activated on a prepaid physical sim, on the prepaid esim I got later it was working from the start. Maybe same situation as with Voda I had? Just phone customer care and complain

Woah… 6min on the 135 number then eventually ended up on 136. Still no idea how to get through to a human for help. Not sure what’s going on with customer service anymore.

But ya. As soon as I went prepaid on my number I lost 5G (Just assumed MTN didn’t support 5G on prepaid and that it was a catch to keep you on contract or something)

I’m hoping now that I’m on the Superflex package I can re-enable 5G.
