MTN SuperFlex now a permanent product

I Find it very interesting that none of the other networks have included a similar plan. Think they may get left behind?
Even Telkom who were always the cheapest are nowhere close to Superflex.

Vodacom actually did.

Voice calls are way less necessary now compared to ten years ago, so these plans aren't as popular as you'd expect.

@Jan the article mentions subscribers being able to port their number from other networks, but does that include existing MTN traditional contract subscribers? Can existing MTN contract subscribers move their contract MTN phone number to SuperFlex?

First move is to convert to prepaid, then it is possible to sign up with SuperFlex.

"Can I use my current cellphone number when I join SuperFlex?
Customers can now join SuperFlex using their existing cell phone number. Customers must ensure their number is a prepaid MTN number prior to signing up either by porting in or closing their MTN contract.

MTN customers will need to use their prepaid MTN phone number to join. Contract customers will first need to settle and end their contract, then move to prepaid.

Customers on other networks will need to port their phone number to a prepaid MTN SIM, then use their number to join once the port in process is complete."

This is perfect. I find myself spending around R250ish per month for minutes (yes, I do still make calls) with daily/weekly data bundles when driving for music and gps. This plan should cover that perfectly. Also meets the requirements of not being a contract.

My only Concern about moving to MTN is that WiFi Calling is not possible overseas with them. Telkom and Vodacom allow you to use Wifi Calling overseas meaning you would use your South Africa minutes/call rates to call home, but MTN block it, meaning you have to pay roaming charges if you want to be able to call.
