MTN Support Line: beyond useless.

Seeing as though MTN are unable to register my sim card on the network in 3 days I am forced to cal 083 1 808 from my landline instead of just 808 had I had a working cell.

Apart from having to listen to all the FICA nonsense everytime, after entering my cell number and following a convoluted path through their menu I eventually get told that operating hours are 9am to 2pm on Saturdays. WTF idiots!

Its after 9am this Saturday. So now I have to get in my car and drive to a MTN store to find out how my sim activation and my escalated query in this regard is progressing. Of course I already know the answer but I cant sit for 2 weeks with no working sim like seems to be happening to a lot of people.

MTN seem to be striving for levels of incompetence never before seen in the history of modern business.
 
Jammer om Te hoor van jou k@k :p. Now let's be serious I have never had any major issues with MTN in the past 15 years except when I had to phone them thrice just to get the iPhone APN which is "internet" BTW :D.
 
Tell that to all the people on HelloPeter who waited 2 weeks for sim activation. Looks like Im heading that way too.
 
Iam on day 2, my mtn sim is registerd , i couldnt make calls but the BIS on my blackberry became active so the internet was all up and running , when i try to make a call it says my service has been suspended , i dail *141# it says i need to rica , so i go into a mtn store and rica , and now nothing works
 
Called the store and they followed up. Apparently there are few people working in the department that can fix this so she will check on Monday. WTF? I might as well not have a cell at all now cos by the time they fix this I will have learnt to live without one.

I just cant believe things like this take so long and are always so complicated.
 
I got my sorted out now, walked back into the store today , apparently it was barred, somthing to do with the service fees
