Mtn upgrade

3 months bank statement and/or salary slips, ID, proof of address.

What is required when one upgrade with MTN store?
I took an upgrade and an extra line (phone) 2 weeks ago. Just needed my driver's license. I am long time customer though.

I just take everthing. You never know what these people want and I have no time to keep going back and forth

ID is all, drivers for some reason is not sufficient at some merchants for proof of identity

So if im on 20th month of 24mnths will I be charged for the remaining 4months when I upgrade or those charges will be weaved and start a new contract?

There is no such thing as a free lunch.

Your contract will be now 28 months.

Keep upgrading early and you will find yourself locked into the ISP for a long time.

Typical retention strategy by the network by enticing you to upgrade early.

:notworthy: I was advice by sales agent that remaining charges will be forfeited, I will be charged for new contract only because im not living the service provide - im upgrading.

This is what MTN social media also confirmed:

Please note that when you upgrade in the 20th month you won't pay the remaining 4 months you will start paying for the upgrade. ~Palesa

Yes you pay the new contract amount but the contract technically extends to 28 months as you cannot cancel after 24 months
