Mtn WiFi hotspot

Hi. I'm trying to use my phone as a WiFi hotspot. Internet works fine on the phone but on the laptop via the WiFi hotspot it connects to WiFi but then says there’s no Internet. What is the problem? Note I am using the 30gb lte upgrade data - can you not use a hotspot using this data or what?

If you are using the phone as a hotspot and the internet is working on the phone, it should work on anything basically.
If you have a spare/friends phone nearby you can connect to it and see if the problem lies within the hotspot or the connection between your phone and the laptop.

I got the 30 GB LTE when I upgraded and 100 GB LTE more recently when I opened a new contract; both times the hotspot worked just fine from phone-to-phone and phone-to-computer.

What phone and operating system are you using?
