It's taken MTN over a month to process and insurance claim of mine. I've tried everything to try an get it sorted but they keep lying to me saying that it will get sorted "today" and someone will call me but it never happens. It take almost 3 days to get through to their call centre because you hold for over 30 mins at a time and it just cuts you off. They say it takes 5 days to process your claim but like I said 30 days on and nothing. They don't respond to any mails either. I've complained on Hellopeter but they seem to be ignoring that as well and I compained on their MTN complaints website and that also says that it has a 5 day turnaround. (Just more lies I suppose)

Does anyone know if this is considered a breach of contract and if there is a way that I can cancel my contract and move to Vodacom. My cousin's phone got stolen and within a day she had a new phone from Vodacom and she said it was painless.

Does anyone have the details of the CEO so that I can send him a mail?

It doesn't suprise me when I see articles about MTN losing market share to Cellc and other service providers. Their service completely sucks and lately I noticed that their 3G signal is also terrible. I logged a call for that as well and nothing ever came of it. Again my wife is on Vodacom and she gets amazing signal at my house. I go out and buy telkom mobile data and the signal is also amazing.

The fastest process I've found within MTN is cancelling with them after your contract lapses. You convert to prepaid in seconds and port your number elsewhere.

That said, don't insure your handset with any cell-provider. Sure, keep the warranty with them but it is cheaper to insure your handset with your insurance and claiming is hassle free.

thanks, I'll definately move my contract and insurance

I'm confused, I thought CellC was the worst according to the billboard on Bayers
