Just got this sms anyone know the new price reduction. 'Please note: You will now get 2 different discounts on MTN Zone. The 1st discount will be for MTN calls and the 2nd discount will be for calls to other networks.'
 
Ohh damn. This sucks! Now they are following Vodacom.

Expect the discount for MTN to MTN to be much higher that MTN to other zęby!

That is why I liked MTN cause it forced them to have the same discount to all networks. Seems they are making a loss and needed to change it.

What I ment was you usually got MTNZONE 95%

MTN to MTN would then be R0.12 per minute and MTN to Other would be R0.15

Now you would most likely get MTN to MTN 95% and MTN to other 60% or something like that. When it was only one MTNZONE 90% it ment to all networks.
 
I've always wondered what that was. When i either close my phone or end a call, a little note pops up on the top screen saying MTNZONE 55% like it is now.

What exactly does it mean?

When you call and it says MTNZONE 60%

Check what network you are calling. Then do a simple calculation to see how much it cost per minute.

Lets take a example.

MTNZONE 75% for me right now.

If I call a MTN number R2.50-75% = R0.62 per minute
and if I call another network/telkom R3-75% = R0.75 per minute

That is how MTNZONE works. You get different discounts every hour ranging from 5% all the way to 95%

Dial 141 and select the change your tarif plan.
 
It seems this zone was stopped today
Several guys told me they called but the Zone gave 0% discount-Although it shows 50%
 
imagine how much money they took yesterday from guys who were under the impression they get 50% or 60% discount
Must be a few million for the day hahaha.

Yes exactly what it says. Its only available to MTN PAYG and MTN ANytime Topup and MTN Off peak topup customers
 
Mtn Zone discount not true

For the past 3 days MTN zone shows a discount % but when you dial it takes the full callcost as if no discount
Is this so difficult to understand.
Last week it gave discount-now it says there is discount-but when you dial you are charged at a NON-Discount amount.
 
Again the companies favour pay as you go clients over contract clients...

Where else do you get penalised for committing to a company for 24 months?

It seems you guys dont understand-I am smelling something here-listen to this

From the weekend all foreigners who called to 087... numbers for example vox numbers did not get the discount showed on MTN as discount % even not the OTHER NETWORK %

ONLY ONE specific 084.... number got the discount.....

Guese who it belongs to....I wonder

With that stunt all the international clients are hi-jacked to rather use the 084.. number -the only one that gives discount...and it spread like wild fire through the country.

meanwhile all the poor guys calling their usual 087.. numbers for international calling got Slukked from their money at FULL Rate.

084 numbers are cellC numbers

BUT WHY do MTN only give discount to this ONE 084 dial up number?
Try it and see for yourself....0841900030
This gives you a discounted call from MTN simcard according the Zone % to other Networks.
Now Try another dial up number-like 0878055792 and no discount on the call.
This only started from Saterday
Exactly when this new 084 number was distributed
so everyone else lost their money and surely all the dial ups loose their customers.
These dial up numbers are very legal and use voip to terminate cheap calls internationally.
Dont tell me you dont know abt it LOL:D

I understand what you are saying. I just never noticed. I think cause MTN does not know whether the 084 numbers are premium or not hence they just get billed normally with discount.

However maybe they think that 087 is a value added service and does not incur a discount. Whatever the cause may be It won't help complaining cause the people at MTN won't even know what you are talking about.

So just use the 084 numbers now. :-)

I wonder if the 087 numbers are free to call in call more time with telkom closer 2

cant you see -it looks like a whole stunt by someone behind this whole planned offence
it is not ALL 084 -numbers its ONLY ONE that gets discount
Someone in the Telecoms Industry owns this number....

All the clients who lost their money-millions of rands
only one guy ends up as the winner hahaha
making millions now -

Do you think Icasa will address this
Well I think it will be in the news soon.
