mtn's network difficulty

When you call 16202 to findout your data balance 9 out of 10 times there is network difficulty.I have been trying to check how much of data i have left since friday evening and then again this morning still the same.

what is happening?
 
Same happens to me. There seems to be GPRS problems now and then as well.

"Please try again later".. OK no problemo, please try debiting my account later too. :)

The service was quite unstable yesterday for a change.

I tried to call 155/5 data helpline. I got through quickly, but the operator was not particularly interested.

Luckily the data service came back about 1/2 an hour later.

Modem settings

My Vodacom Cell connextion to the internet connects to the internet at 460.8kbps (everything fine-still require high speed usb port), will the port make any difference - what i need to know , what is the the gprs settings for mtn network for cellphone Samsung D500
Vodacom Phone is Samsung D820:)
