agreed, but they will be fighting a smaller and smaller puddle of viewers, as internet becomes more available, either via fiber/mobile, why must you pay TV license and DSTV and all that to watch something?

Even some large wealthier countries don’t have decent speeds if you live away from major centres.

They don't have to go anywhere, they can wake up every day, sit on the couch and watch movies, get bored and take a nap, repeat that everyday until they die.
 
They have exclusive rights over a lot of SA sports like cricket, soccer and rugby. That should hold them for a few more years because its impossible to get streams of SA sports from anywhere besides them. There are non-existent pirate streams of SA sports which also helps them.

Their EPL coverage is actually world-class (even better than many of the European and American networks).

They will be finished once a competitor emerges that will also brodcast sports. There was talk that DAZN will look to enter the SA market but it remains to be seen if that will happen.

streaming is the way of the future, legacy models like SABC/monochoice are a dying breed.
Indeed they are. Streaming is definitely the way to go
