hi guys,

I've ported the Multichoice Remote program from the Samsung phones to the HTC One.

The functionality is still the same, ie, it has most of the buttons of the real remote and it also can store bookmarks for your favourite channels.

You can download it from the Playstore at Multichoicemotehtc .

Thanks,

The previous version for Samsung phones can still be found at: Multichoicemote

Cool stuff. Well done, though this won't be useful for me, as I ditched DStv months ago.

I have the Roku 3, and use one of several free remote apps for the Roku. Best thing is that it works over WiFi, so no line of sight required.

hi Freshy-ZN,

The iPhone doesn't have an infrared sender, so this approach won't work. But, I also have another app that controlls i-Products. It works well on the AppleTV and the Macbook Pro's and Mac Mini's. That application currently only works on the Samsung devices with IR, but I'll be porting that soon to HTC as well.

Here's a link to the app : MacMote.

Why am I getting this error? I'm using an HTC One.

Edit: The TV app that comes with the phone also has multichoice decoder support.

hi b_crazy,

That shouldn't happen... You don't perhaps have a rooted HTC One or an HTC One Mini? It won't work if that is the case. Many ROMS doesn't support the IR sender correctly, and the HTC One Mini doesn't have an IR Sender.

Hi,

I have the standard HTC One that's not been rooted. I'm able to use the TV app without issues so this is weird.

Please note the error I'm getting from the playstore on my phone (I'd installed it via the computer)

hi b_crazy,

It looks like you are on the Samsung page. There are two different apps, one for Samsung and one for HTC.

Maybe the two links on the original post was too much info  .
Please try the following link https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.drakedroid.multichoicemotehtc Note the htc at the end of the url.

Hope it helps,
Regards DrakeSW

I get the exact same error as b_crazy. Not using a custom Rom either. 100% stock.
