Why does MC not just buy the same software that SKY uses with their PACE variant? And pay that software vendor to make changes to the software for local use? And if the answer is 'well they should have', then why not scrap the current software and move to something stable, something that is world class? Now?
Are premium subscribers going to continue to pay premium prices month after month for bug-riddled software for another 5 years until the new generation PVR's with Linux/Java versions are released? Is that version being developed by MC also? How is it going to be superior to something developed overseas? Another SA operator will simply source all their hardware and all their software from international operators while MC programmers sit coding new bugs into our next generation of software. Makes no sense to me.
