MultiChoice says Vidi will suffer

MultiChoice says their profits will suffer thanks to Vidi.

They must be really bother or feel threatened by Vidi, if they have gone and make a public statement like this.

I would cancel DSTV if it weren't for those in the household who watch it. I have a dozen or so sports channels (and entertainment, documentary, movie, lifestyle etc. channels) I can stream over XBMC thanks to NTV. BBC iPlayer also has great stuff.

Do you use Netflix or Hulu?

I use Netflix and sky's NowTV. Plenty of adverts on that but they're all UK ones. :)

I watch plenty of sports live so I've got absolutely no interest watching it on the tv.

NowTV costs a fortune man. £19.99pm for sport, £9.99pm for movies, £6.99pm for a handful of entertainment channels and it only works with Roku and Playstations.

I'm paying £5.99p/m for 11 live movie channels + back catalogue and £6.99 (just went up a pound I see) for 13 live (and an extensive back catalogue) entertainment channels. Quite happy to pay that. They kids get their disney and nickelodeon and I get my channels. While I agree the sports channels are pricy I don't watch them (I go to just about every live sports event in PE) so that's not an issue for me.

We have two roku boxes, a nowtv box (which only cost £10!) as well as a media computer and countless ipads, etc. In fact we have too many NowTV compatible devices!

What's the point of going to live sports if you have no context for the game? If you watch no sport on TV then you'll never know what's going on. All the F1, all the golf, 99% of the cricket, 99% of the golf, 99% of the rugby, all European football, 99% of the PSL etc.

Context? It's rugby, not Generations. The Kings play, the Kings lose (generally) - my watching their away matches isn't going to change that. :)

Geez, I've heard more about Vidi from Multichoice articles than from Vidi's own advertising.
