Multichoice wants world first

what licenses do they need for this? how big deal is it for them to get it? how long do you people reckon it will take till one can get this? months? years?

How about DSTV showing programs that are advertised first!!
e.g. Discovery last night - Science of Lance armstrong was a program on the Space shuttle. (the first 15 minutes was Lance armstrong).. then an advert came on,.. and it resumed with a shuttle.

ARGH!

I guess the subscription will be in the region of R500 a month with a cap on viewing time to stop abuse..

Stay away from @lantic (they are expensive and their service is slowly going down the drain since the DataPro takeover)

lol, you not very happy with your service providers hey?

I dont get that some peeps would want to watch TV on their phones. The logic escapes me, seems to more of a "get subscribers and let them get so p1ssed off that they dont use the service anymore" idea.

I don't think our cellphone speakers can take the punishment from multichoice ads!

ROFL gave me a good laugh now. they will porpably supply you with massive 12" subwoofers to plug into your cellphone to listen on :D

/me waits for the first accident reports of peeps watching TV while driving, thereby extending the time waiting in traffic to 6 hours. :)

I have to agree with the post above. MC should first get what they have working correctly, before finding something else to mess up.

Info bar almost always incorrect or with grammar errors
Ads still too loud (although I must admit it is better)
Repeats - as an example, MUST we STILL have mythbusters repeating every night at 8 - daily response is "Seen it".

Better idea for everyone who wants to watch TV in the car.
1) DVD recorder (VCR type thingy, not PC thingy)
2) portable DVD player
done.

Their aim should be to bring us HDTV and not mobile tv imho

if dvb-h decoder for tv is developed, then it might be a welcome change, more is better?

Ok, let me see if I get this. Let's watch a high quality broadcast on a screen 3cm by 2.7 cm or slightly larger (not really by much), with sound that is actually only audible through headphones. All this while probably paying more than the current DSTV subscription for said service. The mind boggles.

There's actually a commercially viable platform for these services, local traffic/weather, broadcasts targeted at your area, business show on your way to work, latest stock quotes, etc, etc...

It's not aimed at us poverty striken plebs... it's squarely in the 'I earn R50k per month after tax' crowd. (cut to scene of me in my dreams)

Go Figure, yet another SA company that thinks making big money off a few people is better than selling cheaply to all, adding to my pet list of Telkom, MTN, VodaCom, CellC, SA motor industry, Incredible connection, the advertising industry, MWEB most electronics goods companies, PABX suppliers, photocopier salesman and last but certainly not least The SAfrican Government...
