When last did you play a game with multiplayer allowing for 3 or more factions to faceoff against each other ?
Which ones were memorable and which ones failed ?
Type of game (FPS, RPG, RTS etc )

StarCraft: Broodwars

8 player - Free for all.
Map: Big Game hunters.

That was epic.

Factions and players aren't the same thing. Starcraft has 3 factions.

Supreme commander also has 3 factions.

Dawn of War has a crap load of factions.
 
Does anyone agree that we need more games with 3 factions or more ?
Seems like its on RTS games that feature 3 or more factions.

I reckon a FPS with 3 factions should be quite interesting and different.
(I have actually never come across a FPS with 3 factions available in multiplayer)
RPG/mmorpg should also be quite interesting with 3 or more factions.
(Imagine WOW for example , Horde vs Alliance vs Burning Legion )

I actually meant factions/groups not races.

For example :
World of warcraft has two factions Horde and Alliance that are player controlable.
Red Alert C&C had two faction NOD and GDI.
Counterstrike : Counter terrorist vs Terrorists

The last FPS i played that had 3 different factions (and just happen to be 3 different races ) was Alien vs Predator which had Aliens vs Predator vs Human and that was amazing game in itself.
 
C&C: Generals + Zero Hour (USA, Glorious CHANA, and naughty GLA terrorists)

Loved that game. This was what we played at most of our lans back in the day. My favourite faction was the GLA Toxin General (dat SCUD storm and dem tunnels), followed by China Nuke general (damn those nuke migs raped tanks).

Also... so many mods. BOSS mod was one of the best. The memories, the golden age of lanning and gaming for me :P
