Saw this exchange today on local DC hub ..

"<A> has anybody got a sentech 512k accounbt for me
<B> Sentec have implemented a system where they only allow one login per username :(
<A> yip
<A> buggers"

Does this mean that there really was a problem, that was actively being abused, that allowed multiple users to log in with the same username simultaneously? And that it's now been fixed? I read here somewhere the other day that this was acknowledged and was going to be fixed "on the 4th" and this seems to tie in with that. Man, that's bad, that's really terrible, that could explain a huge amount of bandwidth loss. How could ST have been so dumb as to have such a flaw in the system for so long? Hehe, never mind, that's rhetorical. But of course such a flaw was going to be abused. Is there any improvement now?

Well that's very good news. Just did some tests though and my international is still not more than +/- 4kB/s. (Local is very good but that's not very interesting or useful since largely speaking "The Internet" is pretty much not actually in SA.)

Yes it appears that multiple log in have been stopped. Perhaps speeds will now increase.

I think we all grasping at straws... I think Sentech have enough bandwdith they just dont know what the hell they are doing in terms of management. IE you will fond one tower might have too much bandwidth and other stressed towers have the same bandwidth allocated to them but should in fact have more....

But I think the real problem lies with their bandwdth management software and their inability to use it which seems pretty obvious... come on Sentech... fix the bugger before all your clients leave.
