Multiple Mbps ADSL solution

Agreed, this is rather old news. I have been looking at the various offerings in this area for some time and still haven't found a suitable match.

Problem is, my usage varies per month, one month I can do 250Gb's and the next 180gb. I do not want to be bound with a package which limits me and then penalises me for over-usage. In defense of the ISP, I am aware they need to correctly provision the bandwidth their side.

Lastly, have people not heard of a piece of software called Pfsense http://www.pfsense.com. Its easy to use and can take plenty WAN ports ( I think upto 150)

And before anyone shoots me down for advertising, its freeware ! I just use it at many of my sites.

It runs on FreeBSD and I've implemented it at a number of customer sites.

Brilliant piece of software that does what it says on the box, all day every day without problems.

This is all marketing. Radware has offered this with the LinkProof branch for years.....Simple and easy to do

go take a rack at your ISP and put in a line and a few adsls
simple

blah blah..

Wake me up when reasonable price for uncapped/unshaped approaches R1000.

That may give me a woody until than.. ... its all bullsh1t talking

This already exists. Check www.axxess.co.za Their top ten downloaders are listed on the site. This month no.1 was 750GB.

Simple? lol You obviously have no idea what you're talking about.

There is a huge difference between "line bonding" and "load balancing".

Line Bonding: Combining say 5 ADSL lines to give you a total of 20Mbps at any given time.

Load balancing: Splitting traffic over say 5 ADSL line, but you will still only have the max speed of the fastest line, which is up to 4Mbps...

This is pretty unique in SA at the moment

Did the bonded line thing from Tech Concepts last year, 5 x 4mbps lines bonded and it was awesome - when it worked. And even then though the throughput wasn't I was expecting, would like to see Vox's solution in action to see how it performs. We paid all in about R8k/month for 20mbps bonded with 40GB cap.

+1 for the difference between load balancing and bonding...there is a huge difference and people thinking that load balancing is the same thing really need to rethink their network knowledge.
