Hello,

Does anyone know if how I can setup more than 1 afrihost public ip address on one router.
Afrihost says its not possible but i some how seem to think that it is.

I have an IS adsl account with 5 public ip addresses and i would like to get about 3 from afrihost.

I've got the exact same router as the one supplied by IS (Billion 7404VGO)

Thanks you in advance

Yip, Afrihost will only give you one, even if the hardware can support more. It's a limitation that they have implemented, either due to the hardware they have on their side, or for some other reason, perhaps a shortage of IP addresses.

As far as i remember afrihost have LNS their side which will only allow you to dial up and get the single public IP

If you desperately need more addresses, dial multiple concurrent PPPoE connections, each one will get an address of its own. They won't be static addresses, though, unless you have a different arrangement with your ISP.

I have no idea how to do it with the Billion you have, but under OpenWRT, it's as simple as configuring multiple interfaces, adding them all to the WAN firewall group, marking one as the default route, and bringing them all up.

This is possible with a Cisco router, but it seems that you will need a different ADSL account for each static IP from Afrihost. The IS 5 (actually 8 IP's but 5 usable) static IP solution tunnels all traffic destined for the /29 through one L2TP tunnel.

Yup, you're not going to get a consistent public netblock without the support of your ISP.
