Hi all

I have some questions around setting up my home network. The ISP in my complex has set up an adsl router with 3 ethernet lines running from the router to different locations in the house. I have connected 3 WiFi routers using these points and am able to access internet from all 3.

What I would like to know is how I can set up these 3 routers to connect to each other so that all the devices connected to these different routers can connect to each other.

Eg. I want to print something from my phone. My phone is connected to the router in my bedroom via WiFi. The printer is connected to the router in the study via WiFi. Both routers are connected to the ADSL router via ethernet.

Currently I have to connect my phone to the study router before I can see the printer. Is there a way that I can print from from my phone while connected to the router in my bedroom and the printer is connected to the router in my study?

Would appreciate any input you guys may have.

Thank you!

Regards,
Robert

turn off dhcp on the other routers and only have it on the main router. change the IP address of the 3 routers to be in the same sequence as the main router and ensure those are excluded form your dhcp pool ( so if adsl router is 10.202.0.01 , make the next router 10.202.0.02 , then the next one 10.202.0.03 and so on.
you can even give all the routers the same wifi ssid name and password just ensure they on different bands

Basically you need to stop them from being Routers.

You onto want one Router on your network and it should he connected to your source of internet.

Every other “router” you shouldn’t be using the WAN ports on and instead connect them all LAN to LAN port.

Give them all IP’s in the same range. And make the Gateway the IP of the main router.

Like say...

192.168.1.1
192.168.1.2
192.168.1.3

Base this off whatever the main router uses.

Then disable DHCP Server on all but the main router and if they have a “dhcp relay” option point that to the main router IP.

And there you go, one network.

To take it further use the same Wireless SSID on all of them with the same password but set your channels to Auto on all of them or manually set them all to different channels far apart.
