Hey peeps

My guild just switched over from vent to mumble and I finding that mumble is causing loads of lag in wow, vent Worked fine and besides the occasional lag spike it was great

Is there anybody else using mumble that is having the same problem and is there away to fix it?

Iam on a 5meg connection and I have tried via afrihost webafrica and telkom

I seem to have posted this under the wrong thread by accident can moderator pls move this to the wow thread

Thx and soz

works fine for me, just makes some freaky robot voice now and then, but that server messing up.

I rent a Teamspeak 3 Server from Lightspeed Gaming - costs me $11 a month
Found that to be superior to both Vent and Mumble..
How much are you paying, or is it a free server setup on someone's machine ?

I iz teh curious, how many people is that server allowed to host?

There are various options, I have chosen the 25 slot option (and if I remember WOW is 25 player "raids" ?)
I use it for my Rappelz guild, (overseas players) and also for my CSS, BFBC2 Clanmates

U doing 25mans or 10mans? Also i noticed it uses a crap loaded of bandwidth i used 250mb last night in a 25man with mumble on, raid was about 3hrs

10 mans atm, 250mb is ok, you set bandwitdh used in mumble, you can use less , for less quality.

i set it at 50kbs

Thanks.
It seems quite expensive for only 25 people, damn.
I was expecting 250 people for that price, and was going to ask if I could rent a few channels from you.
:D

audio per packet is that slider? mine is at default in the middle.

20kps is fine , if you can hear what they say :)

yea its the slider, I have it currently set at 60ms all the way to the end

How many players would be on at a given time ?
I can set up a channel for you if you want, and add you as admin on there ?
No $ necessary

I've actually found mumble to be vastly superior to both TS and Vent, it just requires the correct config.

Just move the quality slider more to the left.

On a Friday evening in the middle of Europe Winter, it's usually 10 peeps in a 10 man raid, 25 in a 25 and a few buggering around in BG's, about 5, and it sometimes happens that you get some peeps doing heroics at the same time, so, another 5, all in all, 45 peeps.
But, thanks so much for the generous offer.
We currently are paying for a Vent server.
