I am on cable. We can choose between ADSL or Cable.

My cable company just intoduced this:

25 Mb download speed
1 Mb upload speed
150 GB/month data transfer
10 personal email accounts

Only about R650.00 per month. (Rands per month)

It's called Nitro.

What do you think? Should I get it?

Then I could be posting here at the speed of light.

stop boasting  :D lol its a bargain considering for supposed 4mbps and a 3gig cap we paying more

Ha, some people in SA used to use more than 150GB on their 512/1mb accounts in SA by scamming/abusing their ADSL accounts.

Funny that some people really think there are NO caps in the rest of the owrld and that Telkom invented them. but honestly 150GB is close enough to just call it uncapped. I guess its just there to make sure people dont go insane, I mean with 25Mb/s you could really download a bit too much for most ISP's to handle.

Dude, what does Canada have to do with elections in the USA?
As you asked: Crime in canada? Who cares, and what's the agenda?

Ooh could it be: crime in SA by subterfuge?

Tedium is...

I like to know this. Its a nice benchmark to aim for.

Finally, someone with common sense. Thanks supersunbird!

... and please get your quotes in order.

If anything the benchmark should be zero, but that's a whole other issue.

Except for you standing on your pulpit the benchmark is zero.

Being Canadian must be similar to being dead. Most Canadians I have met lack spontaneity and emotion. This must play a role in their low homicide rate.
No need to insult the dead.

Maybe it's just me - but I don't quite get why a Canadian would post something about Canadian crime on a South African broadband board.

Hate is a very strong emotion. Is it possible to actually hate a Canadian? I think it would require more effort than it is worth.

He's not Canadian. Despite his fronting he's little more than another trolling expatriate of SA.

I was born in South Africa. I am from Cape Town(thank goodness - you vaalies are something else).

How come all the vaalies are moving to Cape Town? Must be because you don't like what is going on in Gauteng. And if you can't get out of Gauteng then you are probably wishing you could move to Cape Town. If only they had jobs there.

"IamCanadian" is from a beer commercial. See here:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/I_am_Canadian

It's been a long time huh? Gautengers no longer move to CT mainly 'cause CT crime rate is higher

For those who didn't read Angelo's great post on why IaC is here :D

You really dont have a clue do you? You're just taking pot shots in the dark in the hope you might stir something up.

Personally, I'd like to thank you for your contribution in making SA a better place.

I doubt anyone here has use for news from canada.

I do. That article, anyway.

A gain of 34 homicides, but a gain in gang killings of 35. This largely correlates with the firearms murders, but not entirely. So, more people are dying by firearms, despite the 'stronger firearms laws'. However, the increase is only about 24. Is this a statistical anomaly?

In case anyone was wondering, South Africa's Disarmament, er, Firearms Control act is largely based on the white elephant that the Canadian government now wants to toss out...

Interesting. I did not know that the "Firearms Control Act" in South Africa is based on what the previous Liberal (Canadian) goverment put in place. The new Conservative government that came to power last year(whom I voted for) is wanting to toss it out.

The gang killings are related mostly to a war between biker gangs. These guys are quite vicious with each other. There are also a lot of east-indian(read Asian Indian - not American Indian) gang killings.
