A smear of olive oil in a pan on medium heat until tender.
I heard one isn't supposed to heat olive oil & use canola for that instead. But thats a rumour at best....don't know source/logic behind it.
 
I have also heard that. I do it anyway. I love thin onion in 'never going to get laid' (extra virgin) olive oil. Olive oil is also great for that pan fried cajun style steak.

Microdot on the back of the head. nah, nada. Inside the head after oral consumption... hell, even a dead man would feel THAT.
 
@Slinky: Do you precook the bacon & stuff.

....depends on the cheese. If it is going to burn before about 20min is up then yes but generally I use either goats cheese or a light mozzarella both of which can be baked as long as it takes for the stuffing to cook through. Jab a sharp knife into the centre and see if its cold or if raw looking stuffing comes out. 20min is enough to cook a tablespoon full of stuffing.

Edit to add: the stuffing should only be about 20% meat, just to clarify that... I can see why you asked.
