Musica closes down

Amazing they lasted this long, apart from the music their pricing was expensive.

I wonder what's going to happen to all their stock, keep an eye out for closing down sales?
Brought some cheap JVC bluetooth earphones with 13h battery life there for R400. Cheap as chips. Should've grabbed another pair.

I have always been surprised that Musica is open whenever I actually venture into a shopping mall these days.

Inevitable but a sad moment for me.
In the 90s, Westgate mall had a store called Musica before the franchise. It had all the best music and a switched on staff compliment(a lot like look and listen). Going to that store every other month to buy a cd was always a memorable experience.

The death of the compact disc.
They sold audio equipment too. Sadly became just one more outlet selling the same stuff, cellphone chargers, earphones etc. I suspected this day would come, and I thought to myself how nice if some exec decided to link up with an online retailer like TakeAlot and become a storefront/collection point. Best of both worlds. Would it have worked, I do not know.

Well, they never had the new Pearl Jam which has been out for nearly a year; never had the new Sevendust which has been out for nearly a year...not a surprise, and I'll continue buying from Amazon anyways.
Poor music selection, more interested in selling t-shirts and toys.

Used to love browsing these type of shops two decades back. Can't recall the last time I went into one though. Sad to see it go but that is the way the world has gone.

Bound to happen, surprised they lasted this long, The one in Gateway is always empty, now and then someone on their phone would accidentally stumble inside.
I see the same with Incredible Corruptions and ANC CNA
I wonder much longer Incredible Connection and Matrix Warehouse last?

The Incredible Connection near me drastically downsized and it is still empty whenever I walk past them.

Some people like to own a physical copy. Not rent a streaming service.

I still buy vinyl records. There's something about owning physical media that streaming just doesn't replace.
Bad sound quality? Damaged media? Lost media? Large playback devices? Inability to just choose any song you want?

Was bound to happen. When last did you buy a CD. Looking at my big collection of CD's which are pretty much worthless now.
I still buy but only second hand.... cause full price would bankrupt me.

Not worthless.

The only thing I ever bought from Music was a cheap set of earphones which sounded worse than sticking your phone speaker up to your ears. I made noise on Twitter and got a refund the next day.

These things?
It's for that brand Musica sells. Guess you'll get them at takealot or somewhere else.

Man I remember the days of Look & Listen when people could listen to Cd’s before buying them. They had a bank of headphones, would put the CD in for you and you could listed to it.

Used to be people in a queue waiting.
