Musicians' thread.

I sit tinkering around and making the worst crap that sounds like it is a recording of a baby's play toy and then see stuff from guys like Madeon who is only 19 years old and I get so depressed because I cannot even fathom how I could get to that level.

Actually come on quite a bit since posting that. Making a remix for a competition and got a lot of help from someone (can't remember his forum nick; is it you nihilist?).

So not struggling at the moment....

Just need to learn more about synthesis and will be watching YouTubes for that.

As threatened in another thread a while ago, here's some of the stuff my buddies and I have been doing lately. In 2 projects at the moment, Tofu Goat and Hectic Electric.

Tofu Goat - This is the more trippy stuff. Did a rough home recording at the guitarists house last weekend and this is one of the songs from it. Still hasn't been properly mixed down or anything but gives an idea of our sound. The okes in this group are a bit more serious than in Hectic Electric.

Hectic Electric - This is the group I get my stoner rock fix with. Basically a bunch of stoners messing around in the evenings at the jam room. This is my stress relief group that I let off steam with and get out all them emotions I've been suppressing during the working day.

Enjoyed the Tofu Goat track, vocals were a bit weird in parts to be honest, loved the synth backing and progression, great!

Shot, always nice to have positive feedback. Yeah our vocalist is 'the son of a preacher man' so he does come up with some weird stuff most of the time.


@Electric: Not exactly my style of music but damn, that's some good production there.
 
They're giving away a compressor and some Traktor remixes until the end of the month.
