Feck...

I realized that I had the setting on for deleting the updates after installing activated. No idea why.

I had some of them, but not all of them.

Now I have to find my other misc plugs, and get them sorted. I really am very disorganized when it comes to this stuff. :o

I've decided when I get my ssd I'll be making a ghost copy of my ideal install.
I can't do this vst installation every time, it's such a damn pain.
Stylus, K9, Ethno World Percussion, etc.
It's days of installation.

So, an actual music related question.

Synth is Massive, preset is 'Seven Saw' with the cutoff lowered.

In the beginning and middle (this is where the file loops in Reaper) of the snippet the filter env is wide open, loud and clicky. It's horrid. The note transition within the clip is perfect (overlapped, mono legato), but every time the clip loops, it's revolting.

Now, obviously I can just make one long MIDI clip and overlap the transition, but working with loops is much easier.

If I lengthen the attack of the filter env, it sounds better when I press play in Reaper. But every damn time the clip loops, it's back to the ear-piercing screech.

Any ideas?

Tell me about it. Did it not so long ago. K9U, Omni, SSD4, BFD, lots of other Kontakt libs.
My setup now is:
C: 128GB SSD for Windows, Apps, VSTs, software blah blah
D: 1TB data (2 WD Black drives) RAID1 of my personal data/creations
E: Dedicated drive Kontakt, Omni etc libs.

Saving up for a 2.5" 2TB USB3 disk so I can clone my ENTIRE system to it.

Someday I hope to have a dedicated DAW machine. I need to use the same system for gaming, work, other things and dual-booting is a PITA.

I think it's the reset via gate that's enabled.
It will force the loop to reset each time Reaper loops.
It causes a nasty click noise due to the waveform resetting mid wave.

Try enabling it and see if it makes a difference.

Nope.

Bitwig release date and pricing announced: http://www.musicradar.com/news/tech/namm-2014-bitwig-studio-daw-release-date-and-price-announced-591902

Was kinda hoping they'd price at around $250/300. Anyone else considering it? The modular/build-your-own-stuff looks cool - like Live and M4l in one package.

I do like the look of it, I must admit.

Reaper for electronic sort of stuff can be a bit trying sometimes...

I don't think I'll ever move from Reaper.
I did my fair share of DAW testing back in the day.
Reaper just suites my workflow so well.

copacetic - I'm surprised that didn't help.
If you'd like I'll ask around for you.

It's not go to do with the point at which it starts, it's got to do with the amp env and the filter env, I think. I'll figure it out.

Anyone got a Kaoss Pad 3 lying around they're not using? Would like to buy. Actually any synths / grooveboxes / gear - the stuff is so seldomly available second-hand in SA.
