Musicians' thread.

Can't believe I didn't see this thread though. I've been playing drums for 8 years now, and 7 of those years have been spent playing live shows and sitting in studios. I currently play for a band called Betray The Emissary, and I've got a few drum covers up on Youtube.

Currently playing on a Pearl Export which came as a 6-piece (extra 10" tom) but I use it as a 4-piece with the 12" tom and 16" floor tom. I'm endorsed by Zildjian so I've got full Zildjian A Customs all round, and I use the Pearl Maple Free Floating snare and the Pearl Demon Drive double pedal.

Also picked up a Roland TD-9 electric kit which is useful for home practice without pissing off the neighbours. Hope to hear from the other drummers here!

Got a few other drum covers as well but I'm limited to how many I can post at a time :p

I had a nice entry level acoustic drum kit a few years ago. Neighbours complained, constantly. Had the cops show up to my door a few times which really demotivated me.

I sold the kit. I recently bought an electronic kit and have started practising again. I'm using Youtube videos as tutorials. Haven't gotten very far. Drumming is a lot more difficult than it looks.

Ah dude I'd be happy to help if you like. PM if you have any questions, or we could setup a Skype vibe and do back and forth lessons like that?

Have a listen to copacetic's guitaring, he's amazing!

LINK?!

Awesome, thanks for the offer. My niece and I embarked on this journey together.
I would like your opinion on the current material we are using, once I get the hang of the basics I would love to get some assistance from a pro like yourself.

I am using the beginner videos on the Drumeo youtube channel, what do you think? Good content for beginners?

Hey man,

Yeah Drumeo is great to use! Hope you and your niece are enjoying it

So today was the Paul Bothner Music Drum Day and they had a Fastest Feet competition.

Electric pad connected to a drumometer timer to count your strokes within a minute.

I won with a score of 924. According to Wikipedia, I'm first in the world this year, and 9th overall worldwide.

Video remix doesn't work as it says private.

Quite hard to sing unplugged without the music backing a voice up, not sure how the Pop idols in the auditions do it :D

Fixed. Should play now.
I think the trick is to do it whilst driving - in the car everything sounds good :). Soon as I sit in front of a mic I choke up.

Just got given this. Direct from the States. I've been playing for years but never dreamed of owning a Strat not with the price tag.

So June is Drum Month at Paul Bothner Music, and I'll be doing a workshop on metal drumming!

This will be my first workshop, and I have been waiting for this opportunity!

Looking for an older version of Propellerheads Reason. I used to have version 4 but the disks are gone.

EDIT : sorted - please ignore post
