I've basically forgotten how to play guitar, but I'm going to give it a go again, picked these up recently:

Love PRS axes.

I decided to buy a drum kit, haven't played in years and it shows hehe. Getting some new cymbals hopefully today and then I can get back into it.

Hi there.

I inherited a guitar pedal but its got no name or even a hint at where it came from. After opening it up I could see this must me very old as my RAT pedal at least looks like its mass produced. 1988 production year. Have seen something like this before? And if so, what can I expect from the sound once I cleaned it out?

More pics available to another modification on the top inside of the pedal.

So, it turns out 7-string guitars are not really my cup of tea.

I'm likely to sell my current guitar, being the following (subsequently upgraded with a set of SD Pegasus / Sentient PUPs);

Any advice on how to and where to go about selling the thing?

Nice axe. Try facebook, there are a number of groups you can join where you can advertise.

My band, Treehouse Burning, released our first music video last night along with a new song. Super stoked with how it turned out!

Beautiful axe, but quite a niche instrument. Facebook Marketplace and/or one of the music instrument trade groups. South African Music Instruments Store is quite effective.

What would you like to replace it with?

I'm not even sure I have a desire to own a guitar these days, but in an ideal world, I'd like two guitars, basically, something along these lines:

For metal:

S1.6ET LTD (I would LOVE a guitar with an Evertune bridge, goddamn)

S1.6-ETPBM-Front-H.pngFor general use, I'm not actually even sure, just something fairly versatile, I'd imagine a 2018 PRS SE 24 would probably be a good match, but I've got sort of an obsessive need to always try new guitars in search of some panacea that doesn't actually exist.

Nice LTD; the PRS SE range offers excellent bang for your buck - I have had a stiffy for PRS ever since I tried the first one at Andy McGibbon's Guitar world years ago.

I really enjoy my Squire (can't afford Fender) Tele, but would love to have some sort of hollow body - Gretsch, Epiphone, Gibson, something in that direction.

Just noting it's not an LTD (ESP) guitar, but a Solar, not that it matters, I just see the model name was possibly confusing if the link wasn't clicked on.

I really wish I hadn't jumped into the PRS 7-string, as it's somewhat soured my perception of PRS (for entirely irrational reasons, in relation to their other guitars) - The scale length is way too short for being able to tune to A without it all being a floppy mess, and the pickups were very bad for heavy tones. That being said - The playability and tones for non-metal use cases were out of this world, I must admit.

Then I upgraded the pickups at great expense and when I got it back from the tech I realised 7-strings hold no interest to me at all (it's ultimately just confusing, and where it would be useful, for super crazy dropped stuff, this guitar is just not built for it).

I should probably try and flog this, and then go plink away at a music shop until I find something I enjoy. I'm super fussy, and have huge hands with sausage fingers, and have always struggled finding a guitar I am comfortable with.

In the interim, I've pretty much forgotten how to play, so it's all rather a mess.

Ah, didn't look at the link - just saw the description.

Anyways, I don't think you'll have trouble flogging the 7-string for a decent price.

What amp do you use, by the way?

Amp sims (various). My current living situation doesn't really allow for a lot of noise. This is probably part of my problem, in that I am searching for a tone that cannot be had without a real tube amp (can be gotten close to, in a mix context, of course, not in playability in my experience).

What would I want? Something like this I reckon:
