Must try Cape side restaurants

So bit the bullet and got flights down to the Cape in early April. Haven't traveled in peak times in a while but need a holiday so is what it is.

We starting in Cape Town ending in Stellies before flying out.

As much as I wanna do Babel again it's fully booked (not surprised), done Le Petit Colomb. Added Cavalli to the list on the back of restaurants to try.

Looking for any other highly recommend must try places. Not only fine dining but we wanna hit Wes Kus to and likely have a really authentic seafood experience. No allergies here so none of those issues.

I haven’t eaten there for a while and plan to visit the week after next after they appointed Eric Bulpitt a few weeks ago. We used to regularly eat at Newton Johnston when he was there and he really is a talented guy. Can’t wait to try out his new place.

Saldanha, go to Sandstones. good food, decent prices, especially if you do the seafood. sit on the beach in the lagoon.
Their weskus pizza, smoked snoek on pizza is a winner. and you have to do the milkshakes, holy hell, delicious.

With a tear in my eye I said Babel was fully booked already hands down fav restaurant of ours in SA!

Wolfgat is obviously a bucket list one if you want to go that far.

Belly of The Beast might tickle your fancy.

Reuben’s if you head back to Franschoek.

Less fancy/name brand/more affordable is Cassia at Nitida.

More every day is the Signal Gun restaurant.

Codfather in Camps Bay like I said in the other thread or their lesser sister restraint Blowfish in Tableview.

if you find yourself in Gordons bay there are a few nice local places in Harbor island like Berties Moorings or the pizza place next door, cant remember the name but its cosy and really nice,

Top tip: if you DO end up there, go around sunset

Went there last Sunday, it's basically Overture with a new name and in a different location.

Just came here to suggest this. Very nice, but watch for Blackouts, the menu shrinks due to no power.

There is a very local restaurant in the Bellville/Tygervallei area called Bloemhof Restaurant and Guesthouse. Value for money and quality food cannot be beaten.

In addition to this, a good old curry at The Burner in Bellville South.

Gino's in Stellenbosch cannot be beaten for pizza. I don't ever eat pizza elsewhere unless someone else buys it, or it's a function or party at a pizza venue. Oh yes, their sangria so. Every second Sunday is Sangria Sunday for me.

I've not listed prime upscale restaurants, I believe more local spots offer fantastic quality as well.

Upscale suggestion: Zibaldone in Tyger Waterfront.

Kalk bay/St James is pretty good spot for lunches. Can only recommend Sirocco, not fine dinning by any means but has beach bar vibes and food beats chain stuff.

Kalkies is a great experiance if you want Cape Towns fish culture running through you, so is brass bell (lil pricey but its a nice place)

Don't fall for the tigers milk vibes on Muizenberg beachfront, KAK food in my opinion,

There is also Eastern Bazaar, i wouldnt go during the day cause CBD is a warzone from 7am - 6pm, but its a nice evening experience if you go after 7/8pm
