Muvhango actor attacked in row over queue

It is common courtesy to tell others that you had been in queue, too many people taking chances today. How the heck does the people in the back know that you had a reservation? I’m not protecting the attitude displayed by the Brakpan locals in the article, but that skipping a queue leaves an impression.

You skip the queue in my view then you are an utter arsehole, so be kind enough to tell the people in queue why you skipped the queue or had the permission to do so.

He apparently tried to make people in the queue aware that he had followed the queue before

Nope, if I spend more than half an hour standing in a queue and then when it's my turn they send me off to do something due to no fault of my own I will not stand in the queue again for another half hour or more - I still consider it my turn and will go back to the teller who helped me initially and wait right there till the person currently being helped is done.

wow - entitlement 101

no fukks given for those who are also waiting in line ?
now imagine for a moment if everyone else claimed to have been in line previously (which in all likelihood is true)

I read that, but I’m talking in general. Besides, I would be more irritated by someone being a bigger dick about the situation. Any argument may be reasonably resolved. It is also the consultant’s duty to enlighten the queue under the circumstances.

the correct way, would be for the consultant to go get the person from the queue.

Then the company needs to draw up a policy to accommodate these situations and to train their consultant’s accordingly. It saves everyone the time.

The assistant would not know their query or face... :erm:

if in fact the person was in line earlier and the assistant told the person to jump the line on thier return, then the same assistant should (and usually would) explain to those in line why the line jump is happening.
most customers would not have a problem then

indeed, in the past its been the managers that make sure the customer experience is a pleasant one and the consultants are effective at servicing the store.

lately just the bare minimum is done and the rest is up to the consumer. no ownership taken, just pass the buck.

so these days yes, the company needs to draw up policies and make sure they are implemented correctly, do the inspections and send mystery shoppers etc.

if the shop takes on the responsibility, the consumers will complain to the shop instead of confronting fellow consumers. but i suspect lately they try and shy away from that responsibility. less hassle for them.

just a little planning goes a long way and saves everyone time and hassle as you said.

less idiots in line freaking out over frustration.

If someone else was in that situation I would have no problem with them returning to the front of the line. The teller or whoever would recognise them. It shouldn't be seen as entitlement, it should be the norm

so you have never seen someone jump the queue and use that as an excuse, the person behind the desk just plays along to avoid confrontation.

I suppose it happens (I've never seen it) but then that person is in the wrong, not the person who genuinely stood in the queue for an hour only to be told he must get a simcard elsewhere, or whatever.

How do you explain that situation to a racist neanderthal?
