Just heard you can't level up in Lan games on the PC version. Any truth to this? If there is, there is no ****ing way I'm buying this game. Then Activision just created a pirate.

Wel, I know, I said I was not going to buy this, but my a$$ was itching, so I DID it.
Can I say, that I still hate steam!!!!!!
Just finished act 2, and so far the game is really good. By the way, I got mine at CNA East Rand Mall and the price was R399. BT games, which is like a 100m away asked R499

O yes, I see they cracked it already as well, so happy playing SP mode.......

It was a combination of this, Borderlands, GTA4 and Prototype. All of which the developers have screwed me over with :p
 
bought the game

SP is VERY nice!

MP is rather sad...tried gaming on IS.low latency , Saix unshaped and verizon unshaped..

2/3 "signal" (game lag indicator) is playable but slow - average is 1/3 "signal"

no ghosting around but the hitbox due to lag is exceptionally bad!

Yes, but those are american sites. I want to see what happens to us! Sure, early speculation is that we will play fine... but I'd rather wait and see if lag manages to find it's way into our systems. it's very possible that our shyte internet will chock when we have 8 people playing on the same line (one host), UNLESS, what they've done is made the game to use as little internet as possible (tracks only your position, and the bullets), but that's unlikely :p
 
That is if you can get it installed. Steam must be the biggest **** up i have ever has the pleasure dealing with. Why buy the freaking cd if you have to download the whole fckuing thing. There goes my telkom cap., FFFFUFUIFFUIFU

oh crap, I forgot about that headache.... I ended up pirating Half Life 2 because the pirated version bypassed steam :D

I bought MW2.

There is no download required - I didn't download..

The multiplayer is not really laggy. I'm using a not so reliable Wimax connection and I don't fair too badly.

I noticed that when I looked for games it searched for all hosts with <100ms ping.

Single player is OK. SLIGHTLY better than MW1.
Multiplayer is awesome. Better than MW1.

Guys with 384k DSL should be fine.
4mb would be very smooth.

So far I have a couple things unlocked. I still need to unlock the Predator drone.

But I have been waiting for MW2 for a looong time.

After playing the MP - I can say that it's worth every cent. Te Spec Ops mode is awesome. Take the Arcade mode from MW1 - and improve it at least ten fold.

Put it this way. The MP is 10x better than MW1.
I had the highest ping - yet I didn't really notice it. :)

In MP - there's no more 'nade spamming. So no 3x frag. :)
Rewards in MP are awesome.

Weapon load out is much nicer - automatic pistol FTW :cool:
Riot shield - okay.

I just wish I played against 'saffers. :(

Oh, and the 6v6, or 9v9 - actually make the game nice. Maps are VERY hectic, jiss. Nice. :)

Unfortunately you have to buy it to play MP. SP just isn't as good.
Though, the snowmobile scene was awesome. :D

I really am impressed with the MP. Really. I have a dodgy 512k Wimax connection. Yet, it plays MP fine.

Try it. If you like the MP in MW1 - you will REALLY like this one.
Yes, the dedicated server would have been awesome, but it isn't that big a deal to me (I play MP fine).

Put it this way, with a high ping I still end up in the top 3 (kill wise). (I SUCK at games).

I give the MP 9/10 (MW1 gets a 8/10). SP gets a 9/10 (a bit short) Spec Ops mode get's a 10/10.

Can't wait to play it on Friday night. :D
 
*Hits the THANKS button* for IdenTity...nice little write up....

I'm on 4mb...but also had the worse connection (by bars displayed), something that scared me in MW1...but MW2, it is just really smooth, a few games i noticed lag, but nothing like MW1 or any other game...and a slight adjustment to my timing was needed..

Agree with everything else you say, they have made the game balanced with weapon loadout's, map design, death-streaks, kill streak steals (sentry shipments).....talking of which, sentries can sometimes unbalance a level depending where they sit, but they are also fun...gets you back into a game ;)


I would easily give the MP a 10/10 ! Loving it !
